Its new driver and 1,000 W RMS high-current class AB/D amplifier deliver immense scale and effortless authority while maintaining speed and composure. Designed for the world's finest two-channel systems, reference-level home theaters, and large or acoustically demanding rooms, No.36 is REL's ultimate expression of Reference.

Re-Engineered 12K Carbon-Fiber Driver

No.36 applies REL's finer 12K pure carbon-fiber weave to its 15" driver. Greater cone strength and improved self-damping produce a quieter, more controlled diaphragm, while revised suspension allows greater travel. The result is exceptional speed, precision, and control even as the No.36 delivers bass on a breathtaking scale.

1,000 W of High-Current Power

An entirely new 1,000 W RMS class AB/D amplifier provides the immense current required to control the 15" driver while maintaining remarkable speed and composure. It combines the authority of a traditional class A/B power supply with the speed and efficiency of a class D output stage, maintaining control through demanding musical and cinematic passages.

Reference Craftsmanship

No.36's curvilinear cabinet continues a design lineage inspired by classic wooden runabouts. Continuous curves, extensive internal bracing, and 12 coats of hand-rubbed lacquer bring cabinetry, engineering, and acoustic performance together in a substantial Reference enclosure. Low-frequency extension reaches 15 Hz (-6 dB).

Precise System and Room Integration

Dual parametric EQ provides precise optimization for both the listening room and the system, while REL's High Level Connection allows No.36 to integrate directly with the main loudspeakers. Properly dialed in, the No.36 is designed to improve not only bass extension but also soundstaging, dynamics, clarity, dimensionality, and the apparent scale of the entire system.

The supplied Reference Remote places the primary setup and listening controls within easy reach, while optional AirShip Direct compatibility permits wireless operation where running a signal cable is impractical.

Reference Line Array Continuity

No.36 retains the external dimensions of REL's previous 15" Reference models, allowing owners of No.32 or No.25 to incorporate the newer model into an existing Reference Line Array. This preserves compatibility with an established system while providing a natural upgrade path to greater scale, precision, and authority. No.36 can also be used singly or as a stereo pair.
