Focal Mu-so Hekla All-in-One System

15-driver Dolby Atmos sound, 660 W of Naim-developed class-D amplification, and ADAPT room calibration

Focal Mu-so Hekla brings immersive sound to films, music, and video games in a single all-in-one system. Its 15-driver configuration places seven drivers across the front, four along the sides, and four on top to reproduce compatible Dolby Atmos content in configurations up to 7.1.2 without the complexity of a conventional multichannel speaker system.

Developed collaboratively by Focal and Naim engineers, Mu-so Hekla combines Focal’s acoustic engineering with amplification and streaming technology from Naim. Three front-firing woofers each receive 60 W, while the remaining 12 drivers each receive 40 W, providing 660 W of total class-D amplification. The system delivers a frequency response of 30 Hz–20 kHz and a peak output of 108 dB SPL at 1 m.

Sound Tailored to Your Room

Focal’s ADAPT (Adaptive Acoustic Personal Tuning) technology adjusts Mu-so Hekla’s performance to suit its surroundings. Enter the distances between the system, the walls, the ceiling, and the listening area in the Focal & Naim app, and ADAPT calibrates the sound for the room.

The app also provides five Audio Modes for different content and listening situations: Dolby Movie, Dolby Music, Dolby Night, Sphere Music, and Sphere Movie. Focal and Naim’s Sphere modes combine beamforming and crosstalk-cancellation technologies to create an immersive presentation from stereo material.

Streaming and Multiroom Audio

Mu-so Hekla uses the Naim Pulse Platform to provide access to Qobuz, TIDAL, Spotify Connect, internet radio, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Cast, Bluetooth, and UPnP. It supports high-resolution audio up to 32-bit/384 kHz and DSD128, as well as multichannel streaming from compatible services.

HDMI eARC connects the system to a compatible television, while an optical TOSLINK input accommodates another digital source. An RCA subwoofer output allows the system to be expanded with an external powered subwoofer. Mu-so Hekla can also synchronize with as many as 31 additional Focal and Naim streaming products for a multiroom system of up to 32 devices.

Intuitive Control

The brushed and sandblasted black aluminum enclosure incorporates perforated aluminum grilles and a tactile rotary control with a proximity sensor. Playback and system settings can also be managed through the Focal & Naim app for iOS and Android, compatible smartwatches, and supported voice assistants.
