Three-Way Flagship of the Silver Series With Twin 8" C-CAM Bass Drivers, Dedicated Midrange, and Silent Flow Port Technology

The Silver 500 8G is the largest floorstanding speaker in Monitor Audio's eighth-generation Silver Series. Its three-way design combines two 8" C-CAM bass drivers with a dedicated 3" C-CAM midrange driver and 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter, giving each part of the frequency range its own specialized driver.

The twin 8" woofers and 3" midrange use Monitor Audio's RST III cone geometry. The Silver 500 8G extends to a specified 28 Hz in-room while offering 90 dB sensitivity, making it a substantial full-range option for larger rooms and systems where scale and bass extension are priorities.

Three-Way C-CAM Driver System

Monitor Audio separates bass, midrange, and treble duties across four drivers. Two 8" C-CAM RST III bass drivers handle low frequencies, while the dedicated 3" C-CAM RST III midrange driver covers the critical middle frequencies without also being asked to reproduce deep bass. A 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter completes the system, with crossover points at 640 Hz and 2.8 kHz.

Cabinet and Port Engineering

The Silver 500 8G uses a rigid, braced cabinet with Monitor Audio's Through-Bolt Technology, which secures the drivers while contributing to cabinet rigidity and reducing unwanted resonance. Silent Flow Port Technology is used for the bass alignment, with the port tuned to 33 Hz and engineered for smoother airflow. The eighth-generation design also introduces new outriggers to provide a stable foundation for the cabinet.

The Silver 500 8G is available in High Gloss Black, Satin White, and European Walnut. The speakers are sold as a pair.
