Campfire Audio Andromeda 10 In-Ear Monitors
Ten balanced-armature drivers with TAEC high-frequency tuning and a new noise-eliminating midrange circuit
Created to celebrate Campfire Audio’s tenth anniversary, Andromeda 10 expands the classic five-driver Andromeda configuration to ten balanced-armature drivers per earphone. Four low-frequency drivers, four midrange drivers, and two high-frequency drivers give Campfire greater control over each part of the frequency range while retaining the rich, spacious character associated with the Andromeda line.
The earphones are built in Portland, Oregon, with precision-machined aluminum housings finished in classic Andromeda Green. Stainless steel nozzles and hardware add durability, while the aluminum construction keeps the housings lighter than those of the stainless steel Andromeda 10 Launch Editions.
Ten-Driver Balanced-Armature Architecture
Andromeda 10 uses Campfire Audio’s largest balanced-armature array to date. Four low-frequency drivers are assigned to bass weight, texture, and impact, while four midrange drivers reproduce vocals and instruments with speed and clarity. Two high-frequency armatures work with Campfire’s Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber to extend the treble response and enhance the presentation of space and fine detail.
A specially selected vintage ceramic-film capacitor helps integrate the three driver groups. This component is chosen to complement the Andromeda 10’s internal architecture and create a more cohesive transition among its bass, midrange, and treble sections.
TAEC and the New NEMC Midrange Circuit
Campfire Audio’s proprietary Tuned Acoustic Expansion Chamber, or TAEC, provides a carefully shaped acoustic path for the high-frequency drivers. Rather than relying on a conventional tube and damper, TAEC controls how the drivers’ output resonates within the chamber, contributing to the Andromeda 10’s sense of imaging, layering, and openness.
Introduced with Andromeda 10, the Noise-Elimination Mid-Circuit is engineered to reduce unwanted resonance and mechanical noise within the four-driver midrange assembly. Campfire Audio says this increases diaphragm stability and allows midrange information to emerge with greater clarity and definition.
Time Link Modular Cable
The included Time Link cable uses six individually enameled conductors made from a combination of silver-plated copper and pure copper. Its interchangeable terminations allow the Andromeda 10 to connect to a conventional 3.5 mm headphone output, a balanced 4.4 mm output, or a USB-C device using the included Cirrus Logic DAC module.
Andromeda 10 is also the first Campfire Audio IEM to use recessed 2-pin cable connectors. The standard connection improves compatibility with aftermarket cables while providing a stable and durable mounting point.
